Andrea, who are you and what is your role at ABG?
I have been with ABG since December 2017. Today, I am responsible for the company’s operational side: production, service, and delivery.
I supervise the two department managers, Carmelo in production and Michele in service; I handle planning, cost control, meeting deadlines, and improving workflow processes.
In practice, I deal with numbers, but also with organization and efficiency. My main goal is to make the workflow increasingly lean, effective, and efficient.

What was your background before joining ABG?
I have a technical diploma in mechanical engineering. I started working in an aluminum extrusion plant, where I eventually became plant manager.
I then deepened my design skills through certified CAD/CAM courses and programming for five-axis machines, becoming a technical programmer. Later, I worked as workshop manager and production manager, overseeing about twenty people.
When I joined ABG, I immediately took responsibility for production. At first, I managed a small internal team and several external partners. As sales volumes increased, we expanded the team and reorganized production workflows.
What does your daily work consist of in practice?
The key word is monitoring.
I plan production over a three- to four-month horizon, taking into account material deliveries, subcontractor timelines, and customer delivery dates. Then I constantly check that everything is progressing as planned.
Half of my work is planning and control. The other half is problem-solving.
A delayed material, a technical change, an unexpected issue in the workshop: you need to react quickly, coordinate with the technical office and production, and find solutions.
How does your department work?
The operations department is the most structured in the company. It includes production and service, with technicians working in a “hybrid” way, both in the workshop and on-site interventions.
Service, even if it is not the highest revenue stream, is strategic. It is what allows customers to choose ABG: immediate response, real presence, and concrete support.
What is the biggest challenge in your job?
The main challenges are two: meeting delivery deadlines and keeping the team united.
In the last months of the year, due to growing demand for our products, we faced a real stress test: in two months we produced what we normally deliver in four. It was an intense, almost extreme period, but we managed to deliver everything, exceeding our revenue targets.
That was a great achievement: true teamwork.
People management is the most complex part: motivating, preventing conflicts, and creating clarity in roles and processes. The clearer the rules, the less room there is for friction.
In your opinion, what is ABG’s greatest strength?
The human relationship.
Customers know that when they call ABG, they find someone who answers, listens, and truly cares about their problem. Reliability, presence, and speed make the difference.
Behind every machine delivered, there is meticulous planning, a collaborative team, and leadership that brings strategy and people together.
For Andrea, true success is not just meeting a deadline. It is achieving it together.
