Interest in textile tracking solutions and automated distribution of uniforms, towels, and linens is steadily increasing. Diverse sectors, from hospitality to gyms and industry, are recognizing the significant economic and logistical benefits of implementing textile distribution control systems. ABG Systems has experienced substantial growth, driven by the rising demand for innovative solutions, resulting in a significant increase in installations worldwide. This development has posed new challenges related to managing a growing number of software-related activities, such as updating and remotely managing new installations and configurations. To ensure timely and efficient support, ABG Systems has decided to expand its team of developers by adding two new members.

Key Roles for Sustainable Growth

To meet the specific needs of the software department, two key figures with expertise in IT and Customer Support have been hired. They possess solid software support experience and have demonstrated excellent customer relations skills.

Let’s get to know Davide Battaini and Matteo Passon better.

Matteo, tell us a bit about yourself: what are your previous experiences and what brought you to ABG?

After earning a diploma in accounting, I took a course in programming. The accounting mindset, characterized by well-established logic, precise rules, and working with numbers, definitely helped me in the programming world. For seven years, I worked in the IT department of a large pharmaceutical company, handling everything related to IT support within the company. It was a rewarding but challenging job because there were over 200 employees and numerous daily issues to address.

It was a fantastic experience in a stimulating environment with valuable colleagues who became a second family to me. After years of internal support, I wanted to challenge myself with a different type of experience: I wanted to test my knowledge in a different industrial sector and try my hand at customer support. This brought me to ABG Systems. I discovered a new world that excites me greatly because there is always something new to learn every day. With the help of my colleagues, I am learning the logic that governs ABG’s solutions. My goal? To leverage the issues and problems that customers report to us to transform them into new solutions and developments for our machines.

Let's hear from Davide: tell us a bit about yourself and your new job at ABG.

I worked for many years for the Confindustria Federation that organizes one of the major furniture sector events in Italy. My role was mainly dedicated to organizing this fair, and I was also responsible for the IT sector. After many years, I wanted to test my skills in a different field, more related to automation. By chance, I learned that ABG was looking for people to expand the software office, so I applied. At ABG, I handle software support during the installation of our automated distributors at clients’ sites.

What do you find stimulating about ABG? What are you learning about automated textile distribution? Were you familiar with RFID technology?

I must admit that the world of uniform management was completely unknown to me. I had heard of RFID technology in other sectors, but never applied to the control and tracking of linens and uniforms. It is a fascinating world: it combines the efficiency of distribution services with sustainability and cost-containment logic. The projects we work on are diverse, both in terms of the type of client and geographical area: we do business in dozen of countries from Europe to the United States, from South America to the Middle East. I feel like I’m on a plane taking off, and this constantly motivates me to do better. In the future, I hope to independently manage some of the new projects that are emerging in the coming months.

How would you describe the environment at ABG?

I joined during a period of significant expansion for the company. It’s a time of great change, even internally, and it’s clear that ABG is making an important evolutionary leap by investing in new employees and organizing offices and people to respond to productive growth. What I like is that the family spirit my veteran colleagues told me about is still very much alive. There’s a genuinely welcoming, human, and highly professional atmosphere. Relationships among colleagues are fundamental for a productive office l, and at ABG, I have truly found a warm and environment.
