ABG Systems’ Modular Tunnel is the ideal system for the automated reading of soiled garments in transit on the conveyor belts of laundries.

Supervision of Soiled Garments:
The Modular Tunnel allows laundry operators to obtain a detailed view of the volume and types of garments being processed. This information is crucial for planning and prioritizing production, as it enables better resource allocation and more efficient workflow management.

Confirmation of Return in “Soiled” State:
The reading of incoming soiled items at the facility is a critical phase where the IT system confirms and integrates data from collection cabinets installed at customer sites. It can also serve as a pre-sorting stage, directing textile items towards the correct washing flow.

Cross-Validation of Soiled and Clean:
An essential aspect of laundry services is ensuring that all textiles sent for cleaning are accurately returned to the correct customer. The Modular Tunnel can assist in this process by tracking garments throughout the entire cleaning cycle, confirming that each item entering as soiled exits as clean and is recorded in the inventory system.

Installation of Reading Tunnels:
To facilitate this level of tracking, reading tunnels equipped with RFid technology are installed on every conveyor belt carrying soiled garments. This allows the RFid tags embedded in the textiles to be automatically read as they pass through the tunnel.
